Ask your therapist for a referral letter recomending you for HRT and find an Endocrinologist who will prescribe the proper hormones to you.. But you must have parental permission to start taking hormones. Edit: Damn I forgot if you answer a question before Charles (PJ) you automatically get four thumbs down I'm bad

No one can till you are 18.

In America we must be 18 or older (we may need parental consent for miners here) but somewhere in Europe there have been kids and teens that have been diagnosed and put on the hormone treatment i'm reasonably sure they too needed a parent or guardians consent as well

Sorry about that. I'm 16 too, and I havent even gotten my official diagnosis. My last therapist thought it wasn't nescessary to diagnose me because I had bigger problems to work on. She also couldnt figure out my depression, so needless to say I'm going to a new doctor, and planning on bringing up my gender issues. I would recomend seeing if you can work on passing until then for now. Depending on how many hormones your body has and if you're going FTM or MTF, you might be able to pass until then. If you're MTF, then talk to your doctor and see whether any of these natural remedies might help. They're supposed to be used by women in menopause to add more hormones. Since they arent widely researched, make sure to get doctor assistance though. ahealthyme.com/ topic/ althrt I know there are some that help with low testosterone if you're FTM, but I couldnt find specifics. Get help from the doc, and talk to someone at a natural foods store. My local Whole Foods gave my mom some herbal alternative for low estrogen, and I'm thinking about, with doctor permission, seeing if they have one for low testosterone.

Hi honey. persad is a wonderful place...one of the most respected organizations i know of. they do it right! i certainly understand your impatience, and i have more than just a little respect for it...but if at all possible, i would go along with the program there at persad. they have a wealth of experienced people, dedicated and caring...you are lucky to have them. many places around this country of ours don't have such resources. if i may, and just from a woman who cares, please don't go out on the open market and take those drugs. you don't know what you are getting to start with, and secondly...they can be very dangerous! you need to be monitored. please be very careful and try, and i know how difficult it can be...but try hard to be patient. much love and hope. pj

As per the standards of care you can take hormones at 16. As Koryn said you will need a letter of referral and parental consent prior to reaching 18.

Something doesn't add up here. Either: You don't have your parent's permission They (Persad) aren't following the Standards of Care (SOC) I have to believe it's the former, in which case nobody is going to give you hormones because you are a minor. 18 will be here soon enough. I'm sorry, but do things the right way. I would join an online support forum to keep you sane in the interim. Susans.org/ forums click "transsexual talk " .

Separate from taking hormones, you need to bug your therapist and or doctors to be allowed to take HORMONE BLOCKERS (you don't say if you are mtf or ftm,but in either case these are available). These medicines delay any effects of puberty so that your body will not be ruined by having the wrong puberty, or in your case, stop any further effects that may be occurring. Also see if you can find Gracie Kitty, she used to go to Persad and then went to Duquesne for a while. She is I guess 19 or 20 now,but she may be able to better advise you ,about options.
